There is still plenty of time remaining to sneak in a relaxing summer RV trip to the central coast. If you’re looking to enjoy the ocean, marine life, outdoor activities, or just kick back and relax, here are nine of the best oceanfront RV campsites.

1. Port San Luis Harbor District

This RV destination is growing in popularity. They have stunning views that allow you to enjoy marine life including whales breaching close to shore at certain times of the year. There are five areas that you can use recreational vehicles along with kayak rentals. In the area, there are plenty of dining options and the historic Point San Luis Lighthouse.

2. Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort

This RV resort has everything that you need from WiFi and a business center to tennis courts and a swimming pool. But, being right in the Pismo Beach Region also means there are plenty of activities that you can enjoy. There is horseback riding on the beach, miles of walking trails, sand dunes to slide down, ATVs rent, and great surf fishing.

3. Carpinteria State Beach

This campground has a mile of beach for your enjoyment. Lifeguards patrol swimmers all year round and it’s also a great place for surf fishing. This campground is pretty much right on the Atascadero Beach coastline. It provides gorgeous views of Morro Rock. This has become a popular place for RVers so you are going to want to make sure that you have a reservation if you have your heart set on staying there.

5. Pismo State Beach – Oceano Campground

This is the perfect campground for families. You can watch dolphins play in the surf and explore wildlife in a freshwater lagoon. The campground is also known for its clams. You can enjoy surfing, hiking, fishing, and plenty of ATV trails.

Pismo State Beach also has a North Beach Campground, so make sure that you are going to the one that you want.

6. Pismo Coast Village RV Resort

This is an award-winning resort that provides you with a little bit of everything. You can walk to the Pismo Beach Pier, shopping, and restaurants. The campground is 26 acres and includes a pet area, recreation room, walking trails, and it even has an onsite RV repair service center. If you want to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean, while also having easy access to more, this is a great campground.

7. Ocean Mesa RV Campgrounds

From this campground, you can enjoy the Pacific Ocean and the Los Padres National Forest. The campsites here designed to provide you with privacy with hedges separating them. They also have a heated pool and playgrounds for the kids. They also have two dog runs for your four-legged friends.

8. Faria Beach Park

This campground provides you with beautiful views of the Channel Islands, Pacific Ocean, and incredible sunsets. The park is only steps from the beach and has a small snack bar to pick up a treat. This is a popular park that allows you to fall asleep to the relaxing sound of the waves.

9. Jalama Beach County Park

This a great park if you want to get back to nature. It’s not near the bright city lights which makes it a great place for star gazing. It’s also great for whale watching, windsurfing, fishing, surfing, and birdwatching.

The park welcomes dogs and offers a restaurant and store for all of your needs. And, the park provides you with the comforts of electric hookup. However, you’re on your own for water and sewer services.
