RV Storage Solutions to Eliminate Clutter

Have things been feeling a little tight in your RV? While RV manufacturers have been finding new ways to add more storage space for RVers, you may still be struggling to find the right way to store everything you have in your RV. Thankfully, there are many RV storage solution ideas that can help eliminate the feeling of clutter.

Start here

Before you get into looking for storage solutions in your RV, take inventory of what you have in the RV and what you need and use in the RV. What items are taking up space that you don’t use or need on hand?

The first step to decreasing clutter and organizing your RV is to eliminate any of the items that don’t serve a purpose. If you don’t need it or don’t use it, then don’t let it take up valuable space. Look for things you can donate, sell, or throw away.

Once you have removed all these items, you’ll have a better idea of what types of storage solutions are necessary.

RV Storage Solutions

1. Dish cradles

Dish cradles can help you save space in your cabinets. It can also help you avoid broken dishes since it will stop them from moving around or shifting in your cabinet. There are different options on the market, so make sure to look for one that will help you minimize the amount of space you’re using.

2. Pegboards

Pegboards make great storage options in an RV. If you get creative, you can use pegboards in your storage areas, kitchen, bathroom, and pretty much anywhere to help you take advantage of verticle storage solutions.

3. Magnets

There are many ways you can utilize magnets while organizing and decluttering your RV. You can put them on the underside of your cabinet to hang things out of your way. For example, you can put magnets on your cutting board so you can keep it hanging out of sight and out of the way.

Another popular option for magnets is to put a magnetic strip above your kitchen counter where you can store your knives. This frees up counter space from having a butcher box storage on your counter or giving up space in a kitchen drawer.

4. Spice gripper clips

Spice gripper clips are a great and affordable way to keep your spice out of your way while freeing up space. You can hide spices away on the back of your cabinet door and be able to easily reach them when cooking or baking. This can open up space in your drawer or cabinet for other kitchen essentials.

5. Undershelf storage baskets/bins

If you have cabinets that don’t have items in them that don’t fill all the verticle space, undershelf storage baskets are a helpful option. It creates additional storage space in a place that would otherwise be wasted space.

6. Storage headboard

You can easily create storage space in your headboard with pocket organizers. This can allow you to keep books, flashlights, or other items you might want to have handy when in bed close by without taking up the storage space that comes in your RV.

7. Magazine Racks

There are many uses for magazine racks in an RV. Standing magazine racks can be turned on their side to create verticle storage space. You can use this in the cabinet for things like canned goods. You can also use wall magazine racks to store books, papers, and other items that tend to end up in a pile on kitchen counters.

8. Mounted Hooks

Mounting hooks on the ceiling or wall of your RV or storage area creates new storage areas. You can use them to hang things on their own, pair a few together to create space for longer items such as fishing poles, or combine them with baskets or bins to create even more storage space. The only limit on how to use these is your creativity!

9. Vacuum sealed bags

Vacuum sealed bags can help reduce the space that cloth items consume. This could include things like clothes, towels, blankets, and other similar items. If you’re a full-time RVer, this can be a great way to store some seasonal clothing.

10. Over the door hangers

There is often wasted space behind doors including cabinet doors. Simply adding over the door hangers can create an instant storage solution. You can store things like coats, purses, towels, umbrellas, and other similar items. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box here.
