Pismo Beach RV Parks and Campgrounds

Pismo Beach is a popular destination on California’s Central Coast. It’s well known for having incredible beaches and wineries. But there is plenty more to do in the area as well. Pismo Beach and the surrounding areas provide you with numerous ways to enjoy natural California at its best. And there are plenty of great RV  parks and campgrounds that put you right in the middle of it all.

Avila/Pismo Beach KOA

At Avila/Pismo Beach KOA, you can enjoy the environment of a small beachside town that provides temperate weather all year long. There are nearby vineyards and a beautiful canyon. On top of that, KOAs are known for all the fun family-friendly activities that they have. Some of the amenities at this location include the year-round pool, hot tub, bike rentals, and mini-golf. But the real fun is in the surrounding area of this campground. Some of the nearby attractions include:

  • Bob Jones Trail
  • Central Coast Aquarium
  • Pismo Dunes
  • San Luis Obispo Farmer’s Market (one of the oldest and largest in the state)

Coastal Dunes RV Park & Campground

Coastal Dunes RV Park & Campground is actually part of the San Luis Obispo County Parks system.  This campground is located along the scenic Central Coast, right along Highway 1. You can easily get to award-winning wineries, explore Old Town Arroyo Grande, or sit and relax by the pool. This area is also known to be an off-road thrill-seekers paradise.

The campground has hot showers, restrooms, and a laundromat. It’s located right next to the Grover Beach Amtrak Station making transportation a breeze. There is also a restaurant within walking distance.

Holiday RV Park

If you want to be close enough to the water that you can enjoy throughout your entire stay, Holiday RV Park is a great option. It’s a short two-block walk to the Central Coach beaches. This means the nearby area is full of fun activities for you to enjoy including:

  • Kayaking
  • Fishing
  • Surfing
  • Horseback riding
  • Four-wheeling
  • Golfing
  • Taking in stunning beach sunsets

This summer the park is undergoing renovations to the swimming pool, spa, clubhouse and restroom facilities. They anticipate being complete in Fall of 2021. But there are temporary showering facilities and restrooms that can be used in the meantime. And there is enough fun stuff to do in the area that no swimming pool isn’t that big of a hit!

The surrounding area also has cafes and restaurants, local farmer’s markets, shopping, and bowling.

Le Sage Riviera RV Park

Le Sage Riviera RV Park has a great location. It’s close to Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo along with other California coastal towns. And right next door to the campground is the Pismo Beach Golf Course. If you’re ready for a relaxing retreat environment, this is for you. The park is clean and well-kept. It’s also within walking distance to local restaurants. And because of the location, it’s close to everything that you want to do in the Pismo Beach area including things like:

Lopez Lake Recreation Area

Lopez Lake Recreation Area is also part of the San Louis Obispo County Parks. This is a beautiful campground for those that want to be in nature. There are 22 miles of shoreline to enjoy and the lake temperature stays around 70 degrees in the summer. Popular activities in the area include:

  • Fishing
  • Boating
  • Hiking (there are tons of fossils around since the area)
  • Vista Lago Adventure Park – ropes course and zip lines
  • Mustang Water Park – water slides and plenty of fun for the whole family

As you enjoy the natural area chances are good that you’ll see local wildlife as well.

North Beach Campground

The California State Parks Department runs the North Beach Campground. It’s important to note that this campground does NOT include hookups. But if you have an RV that’s ready for a boondocking, this campground puts you right on the beach. You can rent ATVs nearby and walk to several local restaurants. If you’re looking for a beach getaway where you can take in the stunning views, hear the waves and put your toes in the sand, this is what you’re looking for.

Activities that you can enjoy nearby include swimming, hiking, butterfly and birdwatching, surf fishing, and claiming.

Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort

If you’re looking for a unique experience in the Pismo Beach area, check out Pacific Dunes Ranch and RV Resort. It allows you to enjoy a secluded and serene location without being out in the middle of nowhere. There are trails to the beach and plenty of other activities that you can enjoy as well. While the resort puts you close to other area attractions, there’s plenty to do onsite as well. Some of the activities include:

Pismo Coast Village RV Resort
