4 Reasons RVs are the Gift the Whole Family will Enjoy

This is the time of year that everyone is thinking about presents. You might be thinking about what you want the most or what gifts would be perfect for the members of your family. And while you may be thinking about many different options, there’s a gift that the whole family can enjoy together for years to come. You guessed it—an RV!

It might seem like an obvious gift for yourself if you’ve been wanting to upgrade your camping and travel game, but there are quite a few reasons why an RV is a great gift for the entire family.

1. It’s the gift of travel

Lately, there’s been a shift with people wanting to focus more on giving experiences as gifts instead of buying items. While an RV is a physical item that you buy, along with it comes unlimited experiences through the gift of travel. When your family has an RV it opens the door for more travel opportunities. This could be simply upgrading your camping experience or giving you a reason to start traveling more than you used to.

Your family can use your RV to check out local campgrounds or destinations across the country. You can boondock in the middle of nowhere while taking in stunning landscapes and serene locations or you can boondock in the middle of a large city while preparing to tailgate at the bowl game that your favorite college team is in.

The options are nearly endless.

2. There’s plenty of time to be together

An RV provides your family with the chance to create great memories together through the time that you spend with one another. It’s easy at home, especially as your children get older, to be in the same house without spending any time together. Everyone stays in their own rooms or even when they’re together, they’re staring down at their devices.

But when you put everyone in the RV together to have an adventure on the road then it helps connect everyone.  Chances are good that your RV will be smaller than your house which makes it easier to spend time with your children. And, when RVing you are most likely planning activities that the whole family is going to be a part of. When your child is born you only have 18 summers with them until they are an adult. It goes by quickly and RVing is a great way to make the most of some of that time.

3. Everyone can still have their space

While together time is nice when you’re traveling it’s still nice to have a little time to unwind on your own. If you are sleeping in a tent or hotel room this isn’t often possible. However, there are plenty of RVs that allow you to enjoy time together while still providing each person with a place where they can go and getaway. For example, the 2020 Jayco Jay Feather has a place for a queen-sized bed but also three separate bunks which can be a place for kids to call their own.

Or, if you enjoy escaping to the garage or sitting outdoors when your family is inside, a toy hauler is a great option to consider. Options like the 2019 Jayco Seismic have a space in the back that you can use to haul your toys while you’re driving. But once you have reached your location and have them unloaded, or if you don’t bring any toys along, this space can be used as a separate place to hang out and watch the game with the patio door open or to bring tools along and use it as a workshop. Toy haulers give you plenty of options.

4. It creates new opportunities

Not only is an RV the gift of travel but it provides opportunities that your family might not have otherwise. There are plenty of families that don’t travel because the cost of getting a hotel that fits everyone and then paying to eat out everywhere you go is just too expensive. When you have an RV, you don’t have to worry about trying to find an affordable hotel and you don’t have to eat out. You can bring food along with you and continue spending the same amount on a food budget than you were if you were at home.

RVs allow you to get creative with travel and see the country without breaking the bank. If you’re ready to give your family a gift that they can enjoy in 2020 and for many years after, call Sky River RV today.
